 ADOPT A SHELTER ANIMAL ~

ADOPT A PET!
So now you are ready to adopt a pet.  Before you do, please consider Adopt a Shelter Dog Clipart!adopting your pet from a local animal shelter or one of the animal rescue organizations in your area -- there are so many wonderful pets just waiting to be adopted!  If you are looking for a specific breed, check out the specific breed rescues in your area.  Want a purebred?  Believe it or not, some purebreds are found at your local animal shelter.  Save your money – save a life!  There are so many homeless animals just waiting for their forever home.

DO YOUR RESEARCH.

What are you looking for?  Puppy or Kitten? Young Dog or Adult Cat?  Yes, all puppies and kittens are small, adorable and precious!  They grow up to be adult dogs and cats.  Please do your research for the appropriate dog or cat to adopt.  Animals ARE a lifetime commitment. Will you be able to commit the time required?  Make sure you find an animal that is compatible with your lifestyle. Research the temperaments of the breed.  If you live in an apartment, there are specific dogs that do not require a lot of space. Check out some of the small breeds (i.e., Maltese, Pugs, Pomeranians, Chihuahuas, Boston Terriers, etc.).  If you are an active person, there are many breeds that will match your lifestyle.  There are certain breeds that not everyone can handle.  For example, a Jack Russell Terrier (a very high-energy dog) would not be a suitable match for a person who is not very active.  Please take the time to research the appropriate breed for you and your family.  You will be glad you did!

 SPAY AND NEUTER ~

SPAY and NEUTER!
If your pet is spayed or neutered – you are part of the solution.  If not, please help prevent the overpopulation of homeless animals.  There are just way too many animals and not enough homes for them all.  Sadly, the end result is not a positive one for a lot of animals that do not get adopted.
